Indians top Truckers

The Berlin Indians and Clintonville Truckers played a five-game match on Thursday, Oct. 3, with Berlin earning a 3-2 victory.

The Indians took an early lead by winning the first game, 25-14.

The Truckers roared past the Indians by winning games two and three by scores of 25-14 and 25-13, respectively.

Berlin bounced back to beat Clintonville 25-9 in the fourth game, knotting the score at 2-2 and sending the match to a deciding fifth game.

In the fifth, Berlin jumped out to an early lead, and the Truckers couldn’t recover. Berlin took the fifth game, 15-6.

Caitie Carpenter had 18 assists, two digs and three ace serves for Clintonville. Chrissy Betz added five digs and nine kills. Autumn Voigt tallied three digs, seven kills and three blocks. Katie Collier added three assists, two digs and four kills.

In JV action, Berlin beat Clintonville, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-19.

Berlin’s freshman team beat Clintonville as well by scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-19.

The Truckers host Xavier at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.
