Iola-Scandinavia’s volleyball team will take on a top seed in the first round of the upcoming state tournament.
The eighth-seeded Thunderbirds will travel to Oshkosh Lourdes at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in a Division 3 regional quarterfinal.
Other first round games include No. 5 Wild Rose at No. 4 Weyauwega-Fremont, No. 6 Manawa at No. 3 Menasha St. Mary Central and No. 7 Plainfield Tri-County at No. 2 Shiocton.
Winners will advance to a regional semifinal at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, with the highest seed hosting.
The T-Birds dropped their final Central Wisconsin 8 Conference match to Wittenberg-Birnamwood 25-11, 25-11, 25-11.
