Waupaca man charged with 8th OWI

John M. Lozier, 43, Waupaca, was charged with an eighth drunken driving offense.

At about 2 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy James Santiago was running stationary radar on U.S. Highway 10, near the County Road A intersection, when he clocked an eastbound vehicle doing 79 mph. Santiago made a traffic stop.

According to the criminal complaint, there were beer cans and spilt beer on the floor of the car and Lozier’s eyes were bloodshot.

He reportedly denied drinking that morning and said he was on his way to work.

In July 2004, Lozier was convicted of his sixth and seventh drunken driving offenses and sentenced to one year in jail.
