Chamber announces RUBY Award winner

Stephen Saunders of Waupaca Dental Excellence was named the 2014 RUBY Award recipient

Stephen Saunders of Waupaca Dental Excellence was named the 2014 RUBY Award recipient.

The Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce nominated several young area professionals for the second annual RUBY (Recognizing the Upward, Bright and Young) Award.

They were recognized at a luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Waupaca Ale House.

To be nominated for the award, the individual had to be between the ages of 18 and 40 and work in the Waupaca area.

Nominees were noted for their impact on their business or industry. They had also demonstrated service and commitment to the community.

Nominated for the award were Josh Eggeman, Bethany Home; Aaron Jenson, City of Waupaca; Kate Lewellyn, Office Outfitters and City of Waupaca; Todd Petersen, Neuville Chrysler Dodge Jeep; Stephen Saunders, Waupaca Dental Excellence; and Jamie Schroeder, Multi-Media Channels.

The Selection Committee chose Saunders because of his passion for working on things that make a difference in the community. His involvement with the Jaycees, coaching hockey and soccer have enhanced the Waupaca community over the last 10 years.
