Hiller, Alice M.

Alice M. Hiller, Waupaca, WI, age 92, passed away on October 30, 2013 at her residence.

She was born on July 4, 1921 in the Township of New Hope, Portage County, WI, the daughter of Reuben and Olina (Hanson) Hiller. Alice is survived by nieces: Arlene Hiller of Hawthorne, CA; Lois (Jerry) Barney of Fergus Falls, MN and Mary (Bill) Schroeder of Amherst, and a nephew, Paul Isaacson of Amherst Jct. She is further survived by several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Phillip; two sisters, Frieda Isaacson and Lillian Hiller, and two nephews, David Hiller and John Isaacson.

Alice had been a dietician working for Milwaukee County at the Milwaukee County Hospital for over 25 years. She was a member of both North New Hope Lutheran Church, Twp. of New Hope, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She loved Jesus and her churches meant so much to her. She was a long time member of the Christ Care Bible Study group at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also very generous in giving to missions. She loved to travel and had traveled throughout the United States, and also to China, Israel, and Germany. She was also instrumental in raising her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at the North New Hope Lutheran Church, Township of New Hope, Portage County, on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Michael Peuse, officiating. Interment was in the North New Hope Lutheran Cemetery. A Prayer service was held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Thursday at 5:00 PM, with Pastor Jennifer DeNetz, Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Memorials can be directed to Theda Care at Home Hospice, or to ELCA World Hunger in memory of Alice M. Hiller. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisted the family with arrangements
