Lucht charged with sexual assault

Brandon A. Lucht, 20, Amherst, who was accused of stabbing a 15-year-old girl in the back last month, now faces a felony charge of repeated sexual assault of the same girl.

While the girl was being treated for stab wounds at Riverside Medical Center’s Emergency Room on Oct. 15, she asked if staff would test to see if she was pregnant, according to the criminal complaint.

The girl reportedly said she believed she was pregnant and that Lucht was the father. She also said she had previously been pregnant and had a miscarriage after Lucht kicked her in the stomach, the complaint says.

On Oct. 16, Waupaca Police Officer Paul Benzschawel questioned Lucht about his relationship with the 15-year-old girl.

Lucht reportedly said he had been living with the girl since March and estimated they had sex 15 to 20 times.

Lucht has also been charged with felony bail jumping and violating a child-abuse injunction.

On Oct. 22, Judge Raymond Huber issued a restraining order which prohibited Lucht from having any contact, direct or indirect, with the girl.

On Nov. 5, the girl’s mother contacted police about messages on what she believed was her daughter’s Facebook page. There had been ongoing discussions about the girl and Lucht running away to Mexico and nude photographs of the girl, according to the criminal complaint.

Lucht faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of repeated sexual assault of a child.
