New fire officers selected

The Clintonville Police and Fire Commission named Shane Krueger as the new fire chief.

Krueger previously was a lieutenant in the department.

Three assistant chiefs were also named, including Andy Beggs, former captain and interim assistant chief; Jon Carrick, former captain and interim fire chief; and Todd Prellwitz, former lieutenant and interim assistant chief.

The PFC expressed appreciation for those who served in these Interim positions since Oct. 3. In addition by early 2014 the new Officers will recommend permanent appointments for the lieutenant and captain vacancies. Until that time other interim officers will remain as is.

One additional Interim Lieutenant position was filled from the vacancy left by the appointment of Chief Krueger. That position was given to Mike Poole.

PFC President Curt Ignacio met with members of the department recently to announce the appointments. The four new appointees are long standing employees of the Department with the following years of service: Krueger (16), Beggs (13), Carrick (19), and Prellwitz (16).

The PFC is looking forward to this talented group of men leading the Fire Department into the future. In addition, the Mayor, City Administrator and representatives from the Townships of Bear Creek, Larrabee and Matteson, who are served by the Clintonville Fire Department, are also looking forward to the new management team of the CFD.
