Chamber recognizes top Clintonville businesses

The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce presented awards at its annual banquet at Clintonville Lanes & Banquet Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Awards were based on the nominations received from all Chamber members and then selected by the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.

Receiving the Large Business of the Year Award was Tadych’s EconoFoods. Large Business of the Year award is for businesses that employ 26+ employees. Criteria for the award includes: business that demonstrates an economic enhancement to the area, provides service to the community, enhances the community image and enriches community life.

Small Business of the Year award was presented to Erickson Pharmacy/Erickson Home Medical Equipment. This award is for businesses that employ 25 or fewer employees and is the first to be presented by the Chamber. A criterion for this award is the same as the large Business of the Year award.

Other members nominated for these awards included: Creative Converting, D. Mitchell Interiors, Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Erickson Pharmacy/Erickson Home Medical Equipment, Glendale Farms, Marion Body Works, Inc., Midtown Grooming LLC, Modern hair Designer’s Ltd, II & III, Specialized Products Ltd., Tadych’s Econofoods, ThedaCare Physicians-Clintonville, The Living Room Coffee Shop & Vintage Décor and Walker Forge.

Two new awards were presented this year, the Community Enhancement Award and the Excellence in Innovation Award. Because these awards were new this year selections for the awards were picked from nominations that were received for the Large and Small Business of the year. In 2014 all the awards will be open for member nominations.

Receiving the Excellent in Innovation Award for 2013 was Modern Hair I, II and III. The criterion for this award was: distinguished themselves from competition through new technologies, superior customer service and use of social media; provides efficient and effective service and has an excellent working relationship within the business community.

Two awards were presented for the Community Enhancement Award: The Living Room Coffee Shop & Vintage Décor and ThedaCare Physicians-Clintonville. Criteria for this award included: creates a unique experience for community members and tourists, draws people to the community, provides a product or service that enhances the area and significantly improves the image, character and social climate of the area.

New Chamber members for 2013 were also recognized and received a certificate. They included: Bill Zeinert LLC, Cambridge Design, Chicken on the Run, Clintonville Area Ambulance Service, Harmony Portrait Studios, Integrated Document & Label Solutions (Kaukauna), Keller Inc. (Kaukauna), Mid-Town Grooming (Marion), Nahh! Tackaway, Sound Designs Security & Electronics, WGWI Publications and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Embarrass).

Prior to the awards presentation the attendees were served a meal catered by Mathew’s Supper Club followed by the Annual Meeting where the 2014 Budget was approved. The evening concluded with a 50/50 drawing and basket raffles.
