New store opens in Manawa

A holiday open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at The Flower Pot and Northern Accents in downtown Manawa.

The event will celebrate the grand opening of Lori Ferg’s new store, recently relocated to 337 S. Bridge Street. There will be hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, in-store sales and drawings for free Christmas centerpieces.

The Flower Pot and Northern Accents features flower arrangements, fresh cut flowers, poinsettias, Christmas gifts, centerpieces, wood carvings and more.

“I wanted to expand the gift store and floral department,” Ferg said.

The new location allowed her to add four feet to the walk-in cooler and more space for her brother Kirby Linjer’s wood carvings, furniture supplied by Lee Bertram’s Finelee Finished Carpentry, and other Northwoods décor.

The store also offers candles, cookbooks, beer bread mixes, novelty items and holiday décor.

“We have everything you need to decorate your home for the holidays,” Ferg said.

The Flower Pot is a full-service florist, offering floral arrangements for any occasion, worldwide Teleflora services, floral deliveries, plus a fresh supply of cut flowers.

A floral designer for the past 13 years, Ferg regularly attends classes to keep up on the latest trends.

The classes “give you new ideas, new techniques to stay current with the ever-changing trends of floral design,” she said. “So much has changed in the floral world with the use of different grasses, decorative wires, etc.”
