Twins charged with robbery, battery

A pair of twin brothers face felony charges for an alleged drug deal gone bad in Waupaca.

Christopher M. Fisher and Matthew D. Fisher, both 27, were charged with robbery by use of force, misdemeanor battery, criminal damage to property and possession of marijuana.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, Sgt. John Helgeson and Officer Clint Schroeder, with the Waupaca Police Department, responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at an apartment on the 700 block of Berlin Street.

The tenant told police that earlier that evening he heard a knock on his door. It was Matthew Fisher.

He said Matthew Fisher began hitting him, then held him in a headlock. While the two were struggling, a friend entered the apartment and fought off Matthew, who fled the scene.

A few minutes later, Matthew Fisher allegedly returned to the apartment with Christopher Fisher, kicked in the front door and began punching the friend. The two then ran away and were seen leaving in a minivan.

The tenant also accused the Fishers of stealing $200 in cash which had been on a table.

According to the criminal complaint, Matthew Fisher allegedly went to the Berlin Street apartment to obtain a quarter-ounce of marijuana from the tenant. However, since he did not have any money, he allegedly tried to take it by force, but that plan failed when the friend arrived and began fighting with him.

When the Fisher brothers returned to the apartment, Christopher Fisher allegedly took the bag of marijuana and gave it to a friend living in the town of Lind. That friend turned the marijuana over to the police.
