Waupaca library offers mystery movie

The Waupaca Area Public Library will resume its First Thursday Film Series at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, with a showing of a classic 1961 murder mystery from the pen of famed British author Agatha Christie.

Dr. Jack Rhodes will introduce the movie, which stars Margaret Rutherford as Christie’s intrepid sleuth, Miss Jane Marple. Others in the cast are Arthur Kennedy, James Robertson Justice and Joan Hickson, who herself went on to play Miss Marple in a popular BBC television series some years later.

The program is free and open to the public. Complimentary popcorn, sodas, and theater treats will be provided.

Fans of the First Thursday Series may also wish to note that movies featuring great classic romances will be shown at 1:30 p.m. every Thursday during the month of February.

More details can be obtained by calling the library at 715-258-4414.
