Eleanor C. Benker, age 88, of Fremont, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Matthews of Appleton.
She was born on September 9, 1925 in Latrobe, PA, the daughter of the late Achille and Theresa (Brunetti) D’Angelo. On October 15, 1955 she married Theodore Benker in Chicago, IL. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, bowling and golfing. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ted; a daughter, Virginia (Jeff) Johnson, Appleton; a granddaughter, Dani; a brother, Gene D’Angelo, IL; a sister, Louise (John) Hetlinger, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Macrina; 3 brothers, Bernard, John, and Pasquale.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Pastor Alex Tychkin will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont. Eleanor’s family would like to thank Brenda and John Roe as well as the staff at Matthew’s of Appleton and Hospice Advantage for the wonderful care they provided.
