Julaine “Judy” E. Kapitzke, age 89, of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Weyauwega Health Care Center.
She was born on July 21, 1922, in Waupaca, daughter of the late John and Edna (Bublitz) Kadolph. On November 19, 1945, she married Lawrence “Bud” Kapitzke in Denver, Colorado. Judy worked in food service at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King for nearly 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega.
She is survived by her husband Bud; two children, Jack Kapitzke and Merri Kriewall; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Gordon “Bud” Kadolph, Cleola Scott, and Mary Redmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Dolores and 2 brothers, Darnell and David Kadolph.
A memorial service for Judy will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Newlin Schafer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
