The Polar Bear Plunge photo on the front page of the Jan. 9 County Post West is embedded with a digital watermark. When the photo is scanned with a smartphone app, it will link readers to a video of this year’s icy plunge on the Chain O’ Lakes.
To check it out, go to your smartphone’s app store (iTunes for Apple, GooglePlay for Android). Find and download the Digimarc Discover App. Launch the app. Hold your phone about six to eight inches above the photo in the paper and wait for the app to scan the watermark. A link will appear to the video.
