Deruchowski, Theodore J. “Butch”

Theodore J. “Butch” Deruchowski, 66, Weyauwega, formerly of Wittenberg, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center.

He was born on October 23, 1947 in Wausau, the son of the late Theodore and Gilda (Hubert) Deruchowski Sr. Theodore was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. On October 31, 1987, Theodore was united in marriage to Susan Bernarde at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. She survives. Theodore owned and operated the former Lakeview Lanes, Weyauwega and was currently employed at Den Services. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and bowling. He loved spending time with his family especially watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include: his wife, Susan; four children: Jamie (Audra) Deruchowski, Jason (Tammy) Deruchowski, all of Wittenberg, Britney Deruchowski and Brady Deruchowski both of Weyauwega; three grandchildren, Kyler, Kiara and Jada Deruchowski; a brother, Terry (Debbie) Deruchowski, Clintonville; father-in-law, Milan Bernarde, Wittenberg; sister-in-law, Ronda (Richard) Schindhelm, Appleton; brother-in-law, Terry Bernarde, Wittenberg; three nieces, Tammy (Scott) Behnke, Tracy (Mark) Miller, Sarah (Josh) Lucas and one nephew, Ryan Schindhelm. Theodore was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, mother-in-law, Alice Bernarde and an uncle, John Deruchowski.

The funeral service was held at 11a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg with Rev. Steve Pope officiating. Interment was in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Wittenberg with military rites conducted by the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post #502. Visitation was held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
