Four candidates for three seats

There are four candidates in the April 1 election for the three open trustee seats on the Fremont Village Board.

They are incumbents Jim Falke and Steve Van Lyssel and challengers Jeremiah Kiecker and Tim Lager.

Dewey Tangwall’s term is up on the board this spring, and he is not seeking re-election.

Village Clerk Dawn Krause said Tangwall filed non-candidacy papers by the end of December.

In addition to the four people who are running for a seat on the board, one other person was nominated during the village’s Jan. 14 caucus.

That was Mary Ann Oehlke, who did not return nomination papers. Oehlke served on the board in the past.

Krause said those who were nominated for trustee had five days to file candidacy papers, from the time they received the papers.

The term for each trustee seat on the village board is for two years.
