Lula M. Brown, age 89, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Bethany Home.
She was born on October 29, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Velte) Hanneman. Lula was a devout Christian and member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church for 80 plus years. She worked for the Waupaca Post Office for 19 years. Pastimes included golfing and playing cards with her family.
She is survived by the children she adored: Richard (Rebecca ) Brown of Roscoe, IL; Sharon (Rob) Royce of Waupaca; Susan (James) Behnke of Waupaca; William (Rita) Brown of Medford, WI; Jeffrey (Jane) Brown of Waupaca; and Judith (William) Mihna of Weyauwega. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; special friends, Michael and Jessica; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lula was preceded in death by a son, Keith, two brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waupaca, with Pastor Paul Bowe officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the spring at Wolf River Cemetery in Fremont. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
