Bulldogs crush Vikings

Four quarters of good offense and great defense helped the Bulldogs earn a 48-19 victory over the Denmark Vikings on Thursday, Jan. 30.

New London led 10-4 after one quarter and 24-9 at halftime. They increased their lead to 34-12 after three quarters and outscored the Vikings 14-7 in the final quarter.

Lexi Roland led New London with 11 points, while Leah Porath and Payton Mix both scored eight. Cambria Fitzgerald contributed six points, Mickey Roland tallied five points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Maddie Schroeder poured in four points, Amber Pethke scored three, Mercedes Wolfgram added two and Gretl Steingraber scored one.

The Bulldogs made 20 of 53 shots (37 percent) and made 5 of 12 3-point attempts (41 percent). The team also made 3 of 6 free throw attempts (50 percent).

New London snagged 34 rebounds, had six assists and nine steals, and turned the ball over 11 times.

The Bulldogs play at home on Friday, Feb. 7. Opening tip is set for 7:15 p.m.
