Charles G. Thiele, 52, Iola, was charged with a fifth drunken driving offense and operating after revocation.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Strobusch was traveling on West Fulton Street in Waupaca when he ran a records check on a vehicle in front of him.
The registration came back as current, but the owner’s driver’s license had been revoked for more than three years on June 7, 2013, due to a fourth drunken driving conviction.
According to the criminal complaint, a preliminary breath test indicated Thiele had a 0.108 blood-alcohol level.
