Shiocton ended the season for the Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team March 1 with a 64-52 win over the Thunderbirds in a Division 4 regional final.
The T-Birds advanced to the final Feb. 28 with a 51-40 win over Manitowoc Lutheran.

The teams combined for 46 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Shiocton led 17-11 after one quarter, but the T-Birds cut the lead to 26-24 at halftime. The Chiefs outscored the home team 14-6 in the third quarter and 24-22 over the final eight minutes.
Shiocton hit 16 of 20 free throws in the game, including 16 of 18 in the fourth quarter alone.
Braiden Garbe led the T-Birds with 14 points, while John Prahl and Connor Lodewegen scored 12 each and Kristian Welch also finished in double figures with 10.
I-S 51, Manitowoc Lutheran 40
Welch and Prahl had 14 and 13 points, respectively, to lead the T-Birds over the Lancers, a team that had scored 70 points Feb. 25 in its tournament opener.
I-S led 19-11 after one quarter, 31-18 at halftime and 42-30 after three quarters.
