Weir, Kenneth R.

On March 17, 2014 we said goodbye to the most amazing man in our life, Kenneth Richard Weir.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He lived his life passionately and loved deeply. He was born in Dallas, Texas, September 3, 1947 and spent most of his childhood in Gladstone, MI. After marrying the love of his life, Sue Lewis, they settled in Waupaca. There they raised their three children, teaching them God’s love and grace, and that you could do anything you put your mind to. He taught that family was more important than possessions, and love is unconditional. Whether you were family or friend if you had a need he was there for you. He owned and operated Waupaca Radiator/Muff-ex from 1972-1995. He was a volunteer fireman and truck driver. In his free time he loved to spend time fishing, hunting, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of Waupaca; children: Kurt (Tammy) Weir of Waupaca, Kim (Jerry) Juve of Appleton and Kelly Weir of Appleton; grandchildren: Amber, Kyle and Kelsey Weir; Derek, Kendra, Karissa and Kortney Juve; great-granddaughters, Myla-Jai and Anora Juve; brothers, Kerry Carpenter and R. Michael Weir; cousins, Barb (Steve) Vargo and Mike Weir; sister-in-law, Sharon (Peter) Bartman, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Julia Weir and brother, Thomas Weir.

The Funeral Service will be on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Victory Church, E3443 Appletree Lane, Waupaca with Pastor Aiden Crandall officiating. The visitation will be on Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established. The Maple Crest Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
