Sharon L. Rogers, age 65, New London died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
Sharon was born on September 27, 1948, daughter of Jay and Kathryn (Dreier) Rogers. She graduated from New London High School in May of 1966. Sharon then attended one year of Valparaiso University. She joined the US Marine Corps in 1967 during the Vietnam War and served for 3 years. She worked as a computer programmer for various industries around the country. Sharon enjoyed crossword puzzles and cards.
She is survived by her mother Kathryn Rogers, New London; sister, Diane (Robert) Kunkol, Amherst Junction; a brother David (Amy) Rogers, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Michael) Olejnik, Cudahy. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Jay, a brother Bruce, paternal grandparents, Curtis and Flora Rogers and maternal grandparents, Nick and Alma Dreier.
Funeral services for Sharon will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service. Full military Rites will be held. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s name may be made to FreedomDogs.org or the American Cancer Society.
