Kindergarten students from Chain O’ Lakes Elementary School and Waupaca Learning Center received a gardening lesson during Silver Mist Garden Center’s second annual Planting Party.
The party was held at Silver Mist on Friday, April 4.
Each student planted a flower in a container they had already decorated.
“Everything will be kept here a few weeks until it’s warm enough for the plants to go home,” said Bonnie Timm, who with her husband, Dennis, owns Silver Mist.
The business provided all the flowers for the students.
Before the students planted the flowers, Timm asked them how they help out in the gardens at their homes and then talked about the parts of a plant.
“Everyone learned the word ‘photosynthesis,’” she said.
