Robert Lewis Hodgden, 83, passed away April 16, 2014 in Peoria, AZ.
He was born Jan. 1, 1931 in Appleton, WI to Louis and Leona Hodgden. He married Valerie Schmoldt Jan. 1, 1952, in Fremont, WI. Robert served in the US Army during the Korean War. A plumber, he was a member of the Plumber & Pipefitters Local #458 in Wisconsin. An Arizona resident since 1980, he was a member of Apostles Lutheran Church in Peoria, AZ.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Valerie; children: Kathy (Richard) Bleier, Ken (Mary) Hodgden, Russ (Lynn) Hodgden and Rhonda (Tom) Brown; grandchildren: Heather Bleier, Heidi (Jared) Dahlberg, Holly (Roger) Tice, Kaitlin and Lisa Hodgden, Ericka (Ryan) Brockhaus, Joshua Fronczak, Heather (Philip) Robarge and Jeff Hughes; great-grandchildren: Alex, Kaitlyn, Tyson, Laura (Ryan) Drevlow and great-great granddaughters, Gracelynn and Joy. Robert was preceded in death by his son Thomas; sisters, Betty (Lem) Olson and Audrey (Jerry) Fraedrich.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Apostles Lutheran Church, 7020 W. Cactus Rd., Peoria, AZ 85381. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
