Brasch, Marjorie A.

Marjorie A. Brasch, Waupaca, WI, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI following a brief illness.

She was born in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Fred and Agnes (Haberman) Scheppler. She married Leonard Brasch on May 29, 1941 in Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1993. Marjorie is survived by her son, Leonard (Katherine) Brasch, Jr of Waupaca, WI; her daughter, Fritzi (R. Louis) Balliet of Appleton, WI; grandchildren: Kimberly (John) Long and her children, Nick, Tanner, and Tyler of Sterling, IL; Christopher (Kim) Brasch and their children, Cody, Katie, and Sean of Haslet, TX; Kevin Brasch and his daughter, Reagan of Oswego, IL; Jenny (Kyle) Leverson and their daughter, Talula of Hewitt, WI; Becky Balliet of Denver, CO and Andrew (Laura) Balliet of Appleton, WI. She is further survived by a brother, Fred (Caryl) Scheppler of Marshfield, WI; a sister-in-law, Shirley Brasch of Appleton, WI; a brother-in-law, Ray Schreiter of Cecil, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Brasch Sr, her parents, two sisters, Bernice Scheppler and Rita Schreiter, and an infant brother.

She had been employed with Kimberly Clark in Neenah and also had worked as a telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell, but her greatest joy was being a mom and a grandmother. She enjoyed many happy years on Shawano Lake and at Mason Woods in Cecil, WI. She had been very active in St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Appleton and at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cecil. She loved to knit, sew, and cook, and her family will miss her famous potato pancakes.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Amalraj Roche, Celebrant. Interment of cremains will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Appleton, WI. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund in memory of Marjorie A. Brasch. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
