The Waupaca County Board of Adjustment will hear testimony on the proposed sand mine in Union, beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 15.
The Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Committee held a nearly eight-hour public hearing on the sand mine on Nov. 1, 2012, then voted on June 6, 2013, to grant a conditional use permit for the mine. Opponents of the sand mine filed an appeal on July 5, 2013.
The appeal hearing is scheduled to run Thursday, Friday and Monday, May 15-19.
