Fisher, William J.

William J. Fisher, age 76 years, of New London (formerly of Clintonville) passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Partridge House – Adult Family Home, New London.

Billy was born into a Catholic family on January 24, 1938 in Milwaukee to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Fisher. He was born developmentally disabled and lived with his parents for some years in the Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Brookfield areas. After his parents passed away, Billy went to nursing homes and group homes in several different cities. But in 1970 he began living at Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass, where he had some wonderful caregivers. After 36 years at Pine Manor he was relocated in 2006 to Partridge House in New London. For the past 8 years Billy really enjoyed life and was able to experience some things that he was never able to before. Even though he rarely spoke, his actions and his life touched the hearts of countless nurses, CNAs, and guardians who looked after him.

Survivors include numerous caregivers throughout the years who loved him and some excellent legal guardians who became his friends. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Henry, James, and Leroy Fisher.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Deacon Lincoln Wood will officiate and burial will be at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
