Bremmer, Mary Lou ?Nanny?

Mary Lou “Nanny” Bremmer, Amherst, Wisconsin, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI.

She was born February 5, 1918 in Kaukauna, WI, daughter of William L. and Jeanette H. (Jackson) Delrow. On September 3, 1939, Mary Lou married C. Francis Bremmer in Appleton and together they shared 55 years of marriage before his passing on August 30, 1994. Mary Lou and Francis enjoyed camping in Iola and getting together with their friends. She was an avid bowler, golfer, and in her later years, enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. Mary Lou was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother to not only her own family, but to many others that she opened her home to throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and many friends.

Mary Lou is survived by: children: Scott (Sandy) Bremmer of Englewood, FL; Randy (Dolly) Bremmer of Waupaca, WI; Kristy (David) Madson of Scandinavia, WI; Kathy (Tom) Stroik of Waupaca, WI; grandchildren: Tiffany (Steven) Erickson, Tara Clinton, Ty (Leigh) Clinton, Connie Stroik, Robyn (Scott) Bailey, Stacy (Dave) Gaines, Brook (Elizabeth) Bremmer, Sandy (Jessica) Bremmer, Mary (Neil) Schulke, and Jason (Holly) Hagen; 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and special friend, Linda Stevens of Amherst, WI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jeanette Delrow; her husband, C. Francis “Bumpa” Bremmer; a grandson, Timothy S. Bremmer; two brothers, Edward and Donald Delrow; and two sisters, Dorothy Arft and Virginia Besch.

A Graveside Service celebrating Mary Lou’s life with her family and friends was held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, WI. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
