Quinn to lead Manawa schools

During a special meeting of the Manawa School Board, Dean of Students Jim Quinn was appointed as interim district administrator.

“I am honored to have been selected to lead the district through its next steps in transition,” Quinn said. “I have been a practicing administrator for almost 20 years and am confident in my abilities as a leader.”

Quinn noted that many people in the district already know him.

“I have been a resident of the school district for over 40 years and have been involved in the district as a teacher, administrator, and in a support role,” he said. “I am also very involved in many activities in the community and have been since I came here in 1973.”

“I feel I bring a sense of stability to the position because of my longevity here and my knowledge of the district and its stakeholders,” he said. “I will work closely with the entire administrative team and the board to continue to move forward as a district.”

Quinn’s term will be from July 1 until Aug. 18 or until a permanent district administrator can be found.

“The board of education is aware of my interest in becoming the district administrator on a permanent basis,” Quinn said. “I would relish the opportunity to be that person.”
