Drug charges filed against Waupaca man

Keith R. Mundt, 30, Waupaca, is charged with felony possession of narcotics and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, Deputy Bryan Strobusch observed a pickup truck pull into the Waupaca Rec Center from State Street, then pull out from behind the building and exit from the parking lot left onto School Street.

The truck then went less than two blocks and turned left on Van Street, went one block and paused a long time at the corner of Van and Shearer streets, then turned left on Shearer Street and followed it back to School Street, according to the criminal complaint.

Strobusch reported that there were two passengers in the bed of the truck, yelling at the driver to pull over into a driveway.

The deputy stopped the truck and approached the driver, identified as Mundt.

Mundt said he was giving the passengers a ride home and was confused by their directions.

Strobusch noticed a container in Mundt’s pocket and asked what was in it. Mundt handed the bottle to Strobusch, who reported finding an oxycodone pill and two amphetamines.

Mundt was also cited for operating a vehicle with a controlled substance.
