Jail no-show now faces felony

Kevin L. Mathison, 37, Tigerton, has been charged with failure to report to jail.

On March 20, Mathison pleaded no contest to a second drunken driving offense. Judge Raymond Huber sentenced him to 40 days in jail with 33 days stayed under the Safe Streets Options Program, which requires extensive treatment for drug or alcohol addiction, random testing and more frequent court appearances.

Huber said Mathison was to report to the jail by May 20 to begin serving his seven days.

According to the criminal complaint, Mathison failed to show up at the jail by June 4, and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.

Failure to report to jail is a Class H felony, punishable by up to six years in prison.
