Roloff, Everette A.

Everette A. Roloff, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his home in Waupaca, WI with his family by his side.

He was born in Big Falls, WI; son of Elmer and Esther (Stroschein) Roloff. On August 25, 1956, Everette married Nancy Akey, the love of his life, in Manawa, WI. He was the co-owner of Paul’s Concrete Construction & Excavating, Inc. in Waupaca for over 30 years. Everette was involved in many community organizations throughout his life. He was elected 3rd Ward Alderman as a write in candidate. He also was on the board and acting director of public works, board of industrial development and board of police and fire commission, the Jaycees and past president and member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed the building projects that these groups did in the City Parks. Everette was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Annual fishing trips with his son, son-in-law, grandsons and good friends were one of his favorite past times. His chain saw and sawmill were an integral part of building the family cabin in Big Falls which led to getting his family involved in making maple syrup and creating Doo-Little Syrup, LLC. His daughters often referred to him as the head sap master. The highlight of his week was cooking food with his brother-in-law, Wayne, for their Thursday night cookout at Ev’s Kitchen. Everette had many other interests to keep himself, family and friends busy. Making lefse, firestarters, canning pickles and pork, making sausage and hot sticks, freezing corn and butchering chickens kept him busy in his retirement! Everette and Nancy were members of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca.
