The city of New London Planning Commission will hold public hearings for two separate conditional use requests on Thursday, July 24.
Victory Church located at 1200 N. Shawano Street is requesting to use a portion of the existing building for a religious facility.
Currently the area is zoned as a B-2 Highway Commercial District. New London Municipal Code requires a conditional use permit for all other uses.
The other conditional use request is by the Mission of Hope House of Wisconsin, for property at 520 N. Shawano Street.
Mission of Hope House of Wisconsin is requesting to allow the use of the existing building for temporary housing. They would provide social services at the location including temporary housing to homeless individuals and families.
The facility will be a drug and alcohol free establishment.
Currently the building is zoned in a B-2 Highway Commercial District.
Both public hearings are set to open at 5 p.m. Thursday.
