Truck driver extradited to Florida

A truck driver wanted for an alleged sex crime was extradited to Florida after a hearing Friday, Aug. 1, before Waupaca County Judge Raymond Huber.

Gary L. Baldwin, 59, Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, by Wisconsin State Patrol troopers.

He had just finished dropping off a load at Paris Manufacturing in Weyauwega.

According to the Florida warrant for his arrest, Baldwin paid a police informant $20 to find “young girls” for sex.

When the informant asked him whether he preferred them “willing or unwilling,” Baldwin allegedly replied that it did not matter.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was notified of Baldwin’s schedule as he drove from New Jersey to Minnesota, hauling fire safety equipment.
