Larry Walter Benser, 65, died peacefully in his home on August 6, 2014.
Larry put up a brave fight against his illness and refused to let it break down his spirit, his wit, and his good sense of humor. He was surrounded by love and devoted care of his lifelong friends and the remarkable care of Hospice Care of Stevens Point. Larry was born March 26th, 1949 in Manitowoc, WI. Larry was the son of the late Walter and Effie (Crum) Benser. Larry attended Waupaca High School and resided in Waupaca. Larry retired from his over the road trucking career in 2011 after 30 plus years of driving and took on the management position of the mobile home park where he resided.
Larry is survived by his two children, Laura and Dan, his four grandchildren, (Ashley, Zach, Delano, and Ingrid), his brother Jim, his sisters, Joyce and Judy, and his many nephews and nieces. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Ellen, his father Walter and mother Effie, his brother Lloyd, his sisters, Luella and Betty. A private service has been held. Larry’s remains were put to rest with his wife Ellen. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
