The New London Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to bring family and friends to the 2014 Cheese & Sausage, Fall Family Fest this weekend.
Fall Family Fest will again offer family entertainment, food and fun.
This year the fun starts on Friday, Sept. 12 with the 4th annual Wheels on Water Street Car & Cycle Cruise from 5 – 9 p.m. Activities continue with the Cheese & Sausage, Fall Family Fest from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 in downtown New London.
This is the fourth year of the Wheels on Water Street Car & Cycle Cruise on North Water Street in downtown New London. It is sponsored by the New London Area Chamber of Commerce, New London Lions Club and the Wolf River Classic Chevy Club.
This rain or shine event is open to all makes and models. There is no vehicle, motorcycle or spectator entry fee; dash plaques will be given to the first 125 vehicles and event patches to the first 50 motorcycles to enter. Participants can show off their hot rod, classic refurbished vehicle or motorcycle. There is no pre-registration.
Vehicles and motorcycles line up starting at 4 p.m. in a staging area near Dairy Queen on North Water Street, with viewing of vehicles and motorcycles from 5-9 p.m. on North Water St., downtown.
A brief cruise will begin at 9 p.m. Vehicles and motorcycles will cruise the loop on North Water Street. and Wolf River Avenue., and then disperse.
Spectators can enjoy seeing old classics, participate in raffles, win prizes and guess at trivia as Yo DJ Entertainment – James Kelley, rounds out the evening with musical entertainment. The New London Lions Club will have food and beverages available for purchase in Taft Park. Carry-ins are not allowed.
No pets are allowed at an event with 100 people or more, per city of New London Ordinance. For the safety of your pet and the event attendees please leave all pets at home.
On Saturday, the New London Parks & Recreation’s 5 K Walk/Run will get the day started. Attendees can also visit the wide variety of vendor booths, produce and food stands.
Live music from multiple bands will available throughout the day at the Christian music stage. Randy Peterson – Children’s Performer, will be on hand. Kids can compete in a kids pedal pull tractor event. For $1 kids can enjoy the kids zone games, crafts, bounce house, the Magic of Gizmo and face painting by Hortonville’s Carl Mann. Returning to the Kids Zone area this year is the Fox Valley Herp Club – Hands on Reptile Educational Show that was a huge hit with all the children.
Attendees can sample and purchase a variety of Wisconsin’s finest cheese and sausage manufactured locally. Raffle prize baskets give attendees the chance to win items from local businesses.
The Cheese & Sausage, Fall Family Fest is hosted by the New London Area Chamber and runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 in downtown New London. Admission is free.
