Family event raises funds for new firefighting equipment
The second annual Firefest offered fun for children and adults Saturday, Sept. 20, at Conroy’s Bear Lake Campground & Resort, Manawa.
Featured at Firefest 2014 were free bicycles, a bean bag tourney, pumpkin painting, trick or treating, a haunted hayride, and various raffles.
A total of 10 bicycles were given away in a free raffle. Each child under age 12 received an entry.
The Manawa Rural Fire Department will use proceeds from the event to update equipment and promote fire prevention.
