Jack Van Benthem, of Waupaca, age 72, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
He was born in the Netherlands on July 6, 1942 to the late Johannes and Margrit (DenBroeder) Van Benthem. Jack came to Chicago from the Netherlands in 1956. On January 8, 1966 he married Vinal Herr. A graduate of the University Of Illinois College Of Pharmacy, he worked in retail and corporate pharmacy until retiring in 2010.
He is survived by his wife: Vinal; children: Margo (Ken) Lambert of Waupaca; Jon (Heather) Van Benthem of Denver, CO; sister: Ardie Mehlman of TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Father Amalraj Roche officiating. Friends and family may call on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A memorial has been established. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
