Middle school students in high school musical

Twelve fifth and sixth graders will share the stage with Waupaca High School Concert Choir singers in the upcoming production of “The King and I.”

They will be the children of the King of Siam and also the pupils of Miss Anna, a British teacher hired by the king to teach the children English and the modern ways of Europe.

Cast for these parts were LeCette Anderson, Cassidy Behm, Aiden Bloedow, Cecelia Harms, Gabe Klug, Isaiah Knueppel, Karyn Morrissey, Malia Schultz, Leotta Studzinski, Maci Tripp, Abigail Wesche and Allison Wolff.

Klug, who is in fifth grade, will play the role of Prince Chulalongkorn, who is the king’s oldest son and heir to the throne.

The children will be featured in the song “Getting To Know You.”

Nancy Grams, who teaches music at Waupaca Learning Center and Waupaca Middle School, helped prepare the students and worked on the music with them.

The show, under the direction of Kathy Alan and Jackie McGinnis, will be performed on Nov. 2, 4, 6 and 8, in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.

Tickets will go on sale in mid October.
