List, Dolores ?Dolly?

Dolores “Dolly” S. List, age 90 of Clintonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass. 

“Dolly” was born on December 11, 1923 in Clintonville, the daughter of the late Rev. E.C.F. and Mabel (Schelen) Stubenvoll. She was baptized at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville on January 5, 1924. In 1937 she was confirmed by her father, the Rev. E.C.F. Stubenvoll. On June 4, 1946, Dolly was united in marriage to Elmer List at Christus Lutheran Church. Her father and father-in-law the Rev. Walter List performed the ceremony, a marriage of over 50 years. The couple lived in Clintonville all of their married life. In their retirement years, she and Elmer enjoyed wintering in Texas. Elmer preceded his wife in death on February 19, 1999. Dolly had worked at the FWD Corporation (now Seagrave Fire Apparatus,) the Greentree Health Care Center, both in Clintonville, the Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass and at the Clintonville Hospital. She was also the first woman school bus driver in Clintonville. Dolly was a charter member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She always looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include: her sons, Rev. Robert (Mary) List, Spokane Valley, WA; Thomas (Susan) List, Marion and Jeffrey (Janice) List, Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren: Timothy List, Todd (Ashley) List, Katie (Charles) Garrison, Karrin Waters, T.J. (Andrea) List, Walter List, Theodore List and Valerie (Jack) Pari; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Hope Dexter, Clintonville; her brother, Rev. E.C. F. Stubenvoll Sr., Marinette, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; her son, William Jon “Billy”; her sisters, Faith Marshek and Elizabeth “Betty” Paape. 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Titus Buelow officiating. A private family graveside service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Embarrass, will precede the Memorial Service. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clintonville or Theda Care At Home Hospice, Shawano.
