Verna E. Weber, age 98, of Stevens Point, went to meet her Lord and Savior on October 18, 2014 while residing at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Verna was born in Weyauwega, WI on May 11, 1916, daughter of Julius and Emma (Fandrey) Stroschein. She was baptized May 28, 1916 and was a member of and was also confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church. She attended the local schools and graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1935. She later moved to Milwaukee where she married Arthur Weber on July 12, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1971. She relocated to Stevens Point in April 2007.
Verna is survived by: daughters, Kathi Thomas of Plover, Kristine (Terry) Sousek of Milwaukee; four grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; son-in-law, Martin Thomas; four sisters: Esther and Ona Stroschein, Elda Andel, Sadie Manthe; five brothers: Alvin, Louis, Martin, Walter, and Alfred Stroschein; three brothers-in-law: John Andel, Frank Manthe, Louis Lietz; and five sisters-in-law: Beatrice, Charlotte, Bernice, and Dolores Stroschein, and Dorothy Lietz.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stevens Point, with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 am until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI.
