Robert J. Obst, age 75, of Marion, died as the result of an injury, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London.
Robert was born in Milwaukee, on April 29, 1939, the son of the late John and Florence (Zimmer) Obst. He graduated from Pius XI High School. Throughout his working years, Robert was employed by Gimbels, Fabricut and Kasmir. Following his retirement, he continued working by running his own business, Building Interior Services. Through the years, Robert was active in the Boys Scouts of America and the Milwaukee Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved socializing, shopping and was an avid traveler, knowing where to find the best deals ever as well as the very best eateries throughout Wisconsin.
Robert is survived by his children: Robert (Sandra) Obst, Jennifer Meyer, Sandy (Kurt) Pelisek, Tiffani (Rolando) Vargas, and Erika Hall; grandchildren: Shannon, Jessica, DJ, Zach, Christopher, Daniel, Justin, Gabriela, Adryanna, Evan, and Amaya; and great-granddaughter, Daphne and great-grandsons, Connor and Alexander. He is further survived by his brothers, John (Barbara) Obst, Thomas Obst, and Jeffrey (Beth) Obst; nieces Stephenie, Rachel, Heather; nephew Jonathon, other relatives and special friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; spouses, Peggie, Barbara, and Doris; and son, Kenneth Obst.
The Celebration of Life Service for Robert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on October 30, 2014, at Shepherd of the Lakes Church (153 County Road QQ, Waupaca), with Pastor Mary Bope officiating. Family and friends may visit directly at church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment of cremains will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery, Waupaca.
