“Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives. Test Yours Every Month” was the theme of the 2014 Fire Prevention Poster Contest.
The Weyauwega Fire Department announced the local winners of the annual contest. The first-place winners will now compete at the state level.
The first-grade winners are Evan Graham (first), Lillyan Haufschildt (second), Evan Poltrock (third) and Mackenzie Kleist (fourth). They are all students at Weyauwega Elementary.
The second-grade winners are Addysen Mitchell (first) of St. Peter Lutheran School, Nolan Schrei (second) of St. Peter Lutheran School, Luz Gomez-Chavez (third) of Weyauwega Elementary and Isabella Volbrecht (fourth) of Weyauwega Elementary.
The third-grade winners are Lydia Lick (first), James Lewis (second), Caydance Schumacher (third) and Bridget Wagner (fourth). They are all students at Weyauwega Elementary.
The fourth-grade winners are Madelyn Nehring (first) of Weyauwega Elementary, Emma Poltrock (second) of Weyauwega Elementary, Madeline June Pope (third) of Weyauwega Elementary and Charlie Zastrow (fourth) of St. Peter Lutheran School.
The fifth-grade winners are Gracie Hansen (first), Holly Otto (second), Ethan Roach (third) and Cora Lederer (fourth). They are all students at Weyauwega Elementary.
