Leads sought in tavern burglaries

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is seeking leads regarding a string of tavern break-ins in Marion and Embarrass.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, Oct. 20, a man attempted to break into Korth’s Badger Tap on Main Street in Embarrass.

The suspect was unable to gain entry. However, video security cameras at the Embarrass bar caught images of the man investigators believe was involved in three burglaries.

Forced entry using a crowbar was also made into two taverns in Marion on the same night.

ATMs and video games were damaged at Bubba’s Bar and Kangaroo K’s, both on Main Street.

Because a large safe was stolen out of Bubba’s Bar, investigators believe more than one person may have been involved in that burglary.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Waupaca County Crime Stoppers at 888-258-9955 or submit tips online at
