Feathers, Lowell C.

Lowell C. Feathers, age 89, of Manawa, died on Thursday, November 6, 2014, he was born on September 22, 1925, in Manawa, the last living child of William and Mina (Mitchell) Feathers; loving husband of Beverly Gorges Feathers for 64 years (June 24, 1950) – passed away following a battle with cancer. 

Lowell was a hard working Farmer, owning a farm on County O. He was the Waupaca County ASCS office manager for 40 years, and he sold insurance for American Family. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling and going for a drive. His favorite hobby was flying his plane and giving people rides. Lowell had a story for every event and loved telling it. The Feathers family bonded during travel and Lowell made each vacation a life changing highlight. He took the family to World Fairs in New York, Seattle, WA, Tennessee and Montreal, Canada. Florida and Alaska trips were memory makers too. When the family wasn’t doing a car adventure, Lowell was happy to relax at his cottage on Bear Lake. Lowell was proud of living in Manawa. He was involved in the community (City Council-Alderman; Lions Club) and church (St. Paul Lutheran). Lowell will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, and two daughters, Kay Altfeather; Kristin (Pete) Thompson; one son, Bruce (Christine) Feathers; nine grandchildren: Ryan (Katie) Thompson; Nathan (Caroline) Altfeather; Wade (Sara) Thompson; Brodie Altfeather; Drew (Nicole) Thompson; Rochelle Thompson; Jaimie Feathers; Blake Feathers and Shelette Altfeather; along with six great-grandchildren: Karmen Altfeather, Ava Thompson, Payton Thompson, Lowell Altfeather, Janie Thompson and Tristan Thompson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family was very important to him and made him smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mina Feathers, his brother William Feathers, and two sisters Leola Preuss and Una Roland. 

The funeral service for Lowell will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Lowell will be held directly at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Cline- Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa is serving the family.
