Yvonne “Mitzi” Plowman, age 82, of Waupaca, WI died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at her residence.
Mitzi was born in New London, WI on February 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Roy and Adeline (Kratzke) Melzer. On June 12, 1954, Mitzi married Bill D. Plowman in Clintonville and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2003. She was an Elementary School Teacher for many years and loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
Mitzi is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Gary) Van Order, Gladstone, MI and Patricia (Mark) Wallesverd, Iron Ridge, WI; her grandchildren: Elizabeth (Cal) Haasl, Green Bay; Daniel Thompson, Waupaca and Claire (Steven) Kelly, Warsaw, IN; her great-grandchildren: Emma and Henry Kelly and Norah Haasl; her brother, Charles (Judy) Melzer, Antigo, WI and her special friend, Marvin Moderson, Neenah. Mitzi is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill and two sisters, Judith Swett and Carol Van Vreede.
A Memorial Service will be on Monday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Reverend Jennifer DeNetz, officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery later in the spring. Visitation will be on Monday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mitzi’s name. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
