An evening of plays in Manawa

Two plays will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Little Wolf Junior/Senior High School.

Manawa High School students will present “Dracula in Paradise” and “Shakespeare in Cricket County.”

The cost is $2 for adults, $1 for students and free for preschool children. The tickets may be purchased at the door.

The students presented “Dracula in Paradise” in November for sectional competition. A different cast will perform on Dec. 13.

“We wanted to give other people a chance to be in the play and to have fun,” said Student Director Anna Arndt.

Currently a junior, Arndt has been involved in school plays since she was a freshman.

“I like being able to play different people and to see my friends play different people,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun.”

This time, Arndt is taking on another role by assisting the director, Karyn Pamperin.

“We try to get (the students) excited about it and get them involved in their part,” Arndt said. “I tell them, ‘You’re playing a different person – you’re not yourself anymore.'”
