Red Kettle Campaign

First State Bank supports Salvation Army

December 18, 2014

First State Bank recently presented a check for $500 to The Salvation Army Waupaca County Service Extension in support of the organization’s 2014 Red Kettle Campaign.

Each year, the First State Bank supports various service organizations throughout its communities. This is the first time the bank has made a donation to the Red Kettle Campaign.

“The Salvation Army is a valuable resource to community members in need,” said First State Bank’s Brenda Hansen. “It is our hope to inspire community members to volunteer to ring bells and to support the Red Kettles this holiday season.”

Money raised at Red Kettles throughout cities in Waupaca County stays in Waupaca County, according to June Sawall, Special Projects, Kettle Coordinator for the Salvation Army.

“This is the only fundraiser we have all year. With this money we are able to assist clients with rent, utilities, prescriptions and lodging,” Sawall said.

Sawall said they will be ringing bells Monday through Saturday until Christmas Eve. There are three bell-ringing locations in New London (Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly, and Walmart) with others located in Waupaca, Manawa, Clintonville, and Marion. Individuals and groups interested in ringing bells can call Sawall at 920-470-6416.
