Felony drug charges filed

Two women face drug charges after a traffic stop in Weyauwega.

Danyelle J. Lang, 25, Fremont, is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jessica L. Malone, 37, Waupaca, is charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, Corporal Adam Rogge, with the Weyauwega Police Department, ran a records check on a Honda Civic that indicated the owner’s license was suspended.

Rogge made a traffic stop and identified the driver as Lang, who had three prior citations for driving while suspended, and the passenger as Malone, who was on probation after being convicted of misdemeanor auto theft in October 2014.

Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Traeger arrived with his K9 unit, and the dog alerted to the presence of drugs.

Rogge searched the vehicle and found a small plastic bag containing crystal meth, according to the criminal complaint.

Police say both women denied responsibility for the meth, and they were taken into custody.

Deputies at the jail reported finding a pouch under Lang’s shirt. In the pouch were three syringe needles, an arm band, alcohol prep pads, a small metal cylinder with residue, a small glass container with residue and two cotton balls, one of which had a brown stain that tested positive for heroin, the complaint says.
