A 61-year-old woman was killed in a crash shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, on U.S. Highway 10 near State Highway 49 in rural Fremont.
The woman was a passenger in a vehicle westbound on U.S. 10. The driver, a 63-year-old man, lost control, entered the median and hit the guardrail on the north shoulder of the eastbound lane.
The vehicle then flipped over the guardrail and landed on its roof in the eastbound lane.
The woman died at the scene and the driver was taken by Fremont Ambulance to Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of U.S. 10 for aoubt two hours after the accident.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the victims pending notification of their family.
